Older XJ's vs. Newer Ones
When looking for my jeep, i was (i guess you could say blessed) with the option of a 2001 xj, and a 1994. Personally, i thought i was going to go for the newer one. I already knew what they were like inside and out, because my cousin has an '01. However, when i went to see the '94 in person, I fell in love with the older body, and interior style. What's your opinion? Older or newer XJ's, and why?

You could get the older ones with diesel engines in the 80s... Plus I think the steering wheels until 92 or 93 are just cool lookin.

I have a 98 and I love it, that being said, if the 2001 is close to the price of the 1994, it should really be a no brainer....go with something thats only 10 years old and not 17 years old. I am assuming that they are both 4x4 and both have the I6 in them. IMHO, but the 2001 if u can afford it, X2 on the cupholders...nice to have....

Personally, I think they're all great. Best years are easily 96 and 99 for the 2 styles. I've got the 99, so if i were to start looking for another XJ, it'd be a 96 just so I could have both.

I like my 97 but if something happened and i bought another I would go pre 97 just because there are a lot of those in my area, and lots more parts jeeps in those years here too.
