I love seeing any XJ on the road. There are so many around the area where I live. I could drive 5 miles into town and count 11 XJ's in that 5 mile drive. I love to look at all of them.

I voted theyre all great, but Ive got a '99 and I wouldnt trade it for anything. If I was going to find another XJ, I think Id look for another '99. Theyre the best of the XJ world. When searching for a Jeep in June 2002 I looked at dozens and picked her out of all the ones I looked at. Wouldnt do it any different if I could.

I like my 85. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I love my 2000 but I will admit that i wheeled my '94 alot harder and wasn't scared to take it under the knife and over with the rattlecan.

If I had to choose between the 2, I'd choose the 97+ (again, as mine's a 98). I just love the look alittle more, although there's definitely things on the older XJ's I like more too. Finding 97+ XJ's in wreckers around here isn't so common like 96 and down, so that's a downside.

When looking for a Jeep (was looking for Wrangler or Cherokee at the time), I ended up buying only the 3rd Jeep I looked at (2nd XJ)! Although next I think I'd go with an MJ (if I still got the XJ).

Older XJs-

Pros: There's tons of them in the junkyard that I can grab parts from, The glovebox is in a really convenient spot, The washer fluid tank isn't in the fender, distributor ignition, Fiberglass hatch that doesn't rust, Not as much plastic and more metal, etc.

Cons: Fiberglass hatch rattles BAD with subwoofers, tail lights are ugly, most of them didn't have vent windows leaving us with an annoying section of window that doesn't open, You can really tell it was designed in the early 80s, Cheap interior.

Newer XJs-

Pros: The facelift is timeless and makes the Jeep look almost new, refined interior with tons of creature comforts, more sound insulation, better MPGs, Double DIN radio, a front windows that entirely roll down.

Cons: tons of plastic all over the place, washer fluid bottle is prone to damage

I hate my cupholder in my 96. Whenever I have more than one drink in it and hit a bump, it falls off my center console. what a POS.

Older I love the squareness and they have a few less problems. I hate anything with LP's so 00 and 01 are out for me!

I would if I had one man. Its been on there since my dad bough it in 98. They don't work the best though. Its dropped a 32oz drink all over the place and there's coffee stains all over my carpet from my dad
