On the guage where shud oil pressure be???

 

Around twelve when its warmmed up, when not warmmed slightly above 40. Thats at idol

 

Mine at idle when first started is around 70-80 depending on how cold it is, and once warmed up between 30 and 40. 120,000 miles.

 

Anything above Zero is a plus. 20 or more at idle, hot would be best to see. 10 or more if really, really hot, just had a workout, etc. 40 or more on the road at running speed.

no its not... 30 to 40 is good oil pressure

 

Standard rule on oil pressure.
you want 5PSI per 1000 RPM of constant operating speed.

 

mine runs at 30-40 when warm at idle. When really cold and while running at speed it sits usually around the 50-60 mark. My is a 00 with 115k on it.

 

when my xj is at operating temp and its hot outside, my pressure will be right around 13 at idle. When I first start it up, it will go almost all the way up. Cruising down the road it stays around 30 or so...mine has 170,000 I6
