Default Oil Burn

I was on the way to the coast this past weekend and going up a mild/moderate grade in passing gear. Looked in the rear view mirror and saw a butt load of smoke. Smoke went away after a few miles. Fresh oil change (that day). No lights on the dash. Checked the dip stick and at the add oil line. Jeep runs great however has a slight tick. Help

What color was the smoke? Blue or blackish brown?

Any obvious leaks? I had this happen twice once I blew the valve cover gasket and the other time the drain plug was leaking and both times it would drip on the exhaust and smoke
