Ohio Bad Dealership Update!!!
My 2001, jeep cherokee that has just over 87k on it just broke down on the 101 in LA! I thought it was the fuel pump, but I was way wrong. Once I took it in they opened it up and said, and I qoute, "The cam bearings are melted, and we've never seen anything like this." So, I've posted on here about all the rust repairs I've had to do with this lemon from Ohio's Golden Rule Auto Sales, in Tallmadge, Oh with the owner hiding behind the laws of the state, even after I brought it up with the BBB, and OH, attorney general's office. I have only driven it 17K since I bought it.
Has anyone been through ANYTHING like this and what are my rights? The owner is laughing in my face saying basically, "tough **** dude," and , "the law is on my side." There has to be some justice here. I'm scared to put another engine in it since the rust that I had repaired was so bad and I'm too afraid the frame will buckle. I need advice on all of this ladies and gents. This is AFU!! Tell me this jacka$$ can't get away with this. I've got my insurance company looking at it tomorrow, but I don't even know if they will total it or not. I need help! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Also be sure to take a video of the problems in the car if you ever go to court or anything like that.

If it was an "AS-IS" sale (and most are...) then you are screwed...
99-01 is cursed, I wont touch them with a 10ft pole.
"cam bearings are melted" sounds about right for a bad head and severely diluted oil

Here's the problem. I live in CA, and I bought through an internet walkthrough over the internet from a privatly owned auto dealer in OH. He walked through everything but the undercarriage, and I made the mistake of trusting him. Come to find out there were huge rust tares in the frame and now the engine is screwed. So the question is, do I have any sort of a lemon law case here, or does this ahole get off free and clear? The news stations are almost a mute point, since I'm in a different state. Any other suggestions?
Thanks dude! It's nice to know the level of ethics runs that deep in this country. You can say I am screwed, but the bottom line is this ahole sold me a jeep with serious structural and mechanical issues, and I'd like to think that it is written somewhere, that it was wrong, but thanks for your lack of support.
Yeah I have noticed you can expect a lot of crappy comments here. You probably don't have much of a chance legally. Most car dealers find ways to cover themselves on that. I'd say the best you can do is to spread the word about them. Make sure you post what happened on there local craigslist. I know I will send them a few emails also, and try to spread the word around a bit also. And the more websites you post this on, the more folks can f with em. Thats about all you can do, as far as I know.

Thanks for your support brother. I appreciate it. I understand I will probably take it up the rear with this. I just want to make sure the word is spread, so 1) other don't suffer the way I do, 2) this ahole gets what he has comming, and 3) his business suffers over all. That's all I hope for at worst. Thanks again for your support. The dealer is Golden Rule Auto Sales of Tallmadge, OH.

x2, my 99 is running strong the only ****ty part is the POS dana in the front that keeps finding new ways to leak.
sorry OP but you got a lemon and if it was sold "as-is" then there isn't anything you could do about it except inform people around there that they shouldn't trust him and consider buying anywhere else or getting mech. inspections done before buying (by a neutral party)

Same thing can happen in UK. You buy it with a little warranty. Maybe 3 months. Or you buy at extra cost a warranty for a year which would cost you alot. Or you buy ' sold as seen' which means no comeback at all. We have these types of dealers here too . All you can do is warn others . If these guys get too much heat they close up and start again under a new name. B@"&£'ds

There was a guy here in VA who ran his dealership like that. He screwed a lot of people over, including a few of my friends. He no longer operates here anymore. I dunno if he packed up and moved after our surprise or if he just quit the buiness all together, but the short is that sometimes severe action needs to be taken for a severe issue.
You DOnt have a chance because of the amount of miles/time that have passed.
Word of advice stay awayfrom rust belt vehicles, or places close to the Ocean. Rust is extremely bad in those areas.

I would post this story in their local investigative (TV) news station. Their local craigs list. Their local wheeling clubs. And their local news paper. Get the word out.
