Ok, I have a 99XJ, 4.0 I6, NP231, AW4, that is pretty much stock except for the 3.5" RE lift. I am currently running 31x10.5 15 BFG mud tires (not km2) with stock 3.55 gears. I am regearing and getting new tires soon, going 4.56 with aussie lockers front and rear. I have narrowed down my tire selection to two, super swamper tsl radial 32x10.5 15, or BFG km2 33x10.5 15. I do mud and rocks about equally, I drive the Jeep about 50 miles a week to work and back (but I don't have to, I just want to). Which tire do you guys like better and why? Also I am getting new wheels but am wondering about backspacing with those tires. I am looking at 15x7 steel wheels with 4.5 or 4.25" of backspacing, both should work, but will one be better? Oh, and I am also cutting the fenders, so that wont be an issue.

Deffently go with a 15x8 wheel instead of 15x7. And i would say atleast 4" backspace.

15x7 will allow you to air down more with a 10.50 tire

15x7 is fine on 10.5 just air down when you wheel.

I want the 7" wide wheel for airing down on the trail. My current set up is 31x10.5 on 7" wheels, I keep 26psi in them for every day use, and air down to 10-12psi for trail use, it has been good so far and tires are wearing evenly. But with a taller tire I was thinking I needed a little less backspacing than the factory 5.25". Somebody said 4", but I was wondering if 4.25 or 4.5" would work since i'm staying with a 10.5" wide tire?
