No they do not rub at all now with the trimming that I did at 3" of lift for the 33's but had to bump stop them quite a bit, now at 4 1/2" have a lot more flex and quite happy.

You do need the proper back spacing on your wheels of 3 3/4-4" I have the 3 3/4" Cragar's on mine, this is a must, "Avoid Spacers" a band aid for the proper wheel. As far as steering mine steers very well and on the highway does a very good job considering. To keep any kind of a lower lift 4 1/2" or under your going to have to trim if you want for your XJ to be able to flex at all. If you don't plan on off roading much more of a Mall Cruiser then you might be OK.

Do you think those lift spacers would work? There almost like a rubberish piece that you put in the springs to make it your lift higher.

Yes, coil spring spacers are fine. But you'll need a lift kit on top of them to be 100% happy with them. Remember that you must insert the coil spring spacer first and then the coil spring isolator before installing the coil again.

You will be happier with a lift kit that fits your needs instead of spacers though.

Yes that I used temporally with my 3" lift till I do my long arm kit next year and used Boomerang shackles in the rear for the 1 1/2" there. Then I will replace the front coils but may keep the rear shackles as they give me more than a new leaf to work with.

I was rubbing whenever I turned and after two days tore my plastic fenders nearly off from trying to turn. And I had little to no flex space. So I hacked it. But I ran it with no cuts for about a week.

Hey they make bolt on spacers that are aluminum and bolt on to your existing lugs and give you new ones. Incredibly strong and I babe never heard of a good set breaking in any way.

Still just a "Band-Aid" for not using the correct BS'ing on a wheel, its all comprises how many do you want?.

Sometimes to get the exact wheel you want, you have to use that band aid. Some of the nice rims out there only come in certain bolt patterns and an adapter may be necessary. They make adapter/spacers in one.

Is guess your XJ is more of a "Mall Crawler" instead of "Off Road" used where a wheel might get bent or broken easily. So a spacer and nice wheels are more important than utility.
