Thus far I have purchased an sye and cv shaft... choosing to spread out purchases and wanting to make sure I have these already. I suspect I will finish obtaining all of the bits and pieces (lift components, speedo gear, wheels/tires, cat-back) by next spring... little by little. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm not flaking out

Intro: Clearly by my post count/join date I am new to the forum, so howdy to everyone. I am 26, from Texas, lived in the jungle of Peru for 1.5 years as a missionary but now back in Texas, am now married and we have a 5 m.o. son. My goal here on the forum is to be positive, learn a lot, and hopefully be able to contribute/help others where I can. I chose CF over other forums because it seemed very family-friendly with a generally positive and encouraging attitude from everyone. I love the outdoors/hunting/camping and doing night trail mtn biking but have no experience with trails in a vehicle (other than motorcycle).
Question: Is it offensive to the trail rig community to build up an xj in 'hopes' of growing in trail experience while the majority of the time it will be a dd? I certainly hope to keep the cherokee for many years to come and want to use it to take my wife/son to see more of God's creation in the wilderness, but most of the time it will be my work/grocery store transport.

^Agreed. The patience to simply enjoy the jeep as is is certainly fruitful. As mentioned, I am choosing to spread out purchases to be a bit more economically appropriate. I noticed after having bought the sye/dc shaft that dpg offers a combo for a cheaper price (though maybe not by much after shipping/tax). I purchased the parts, separately, at a total of 475 after tax. There are quite possibly a handful of deals available when bought in conjunction at a cheaper rate but I didn't look.

that's it, I'm doin it. No more excuses!
