No 1st gear

No 1st gear
I have a Grand Cherokee 4.0L Petrol 2001,
Just got it back from a transmission shop, they cant fix it (find the fault it now has).I went in with 1st gaer would not change to second unless you nailed 5500 rpm. That appeard overnight.
1) with the Trassmission control relay "IN", the transmission ("D") is stuck in first gear all the time.
2) remove the transmissrion control relay, and I get in "D" ... 2<>3<>4 changing ok, no kickdown. so it is driveable and the recon in the transmission must has worked.
The 3x off-on dashboard diag give me these three codes...
P0753
P1762
P1765
The jeep is fully driveable and will pull off slowly in second gear.
Any Ideas on what I do next?

Unplug the transmission control module and try to shift it manually. If this works then you have some kind of electrical problem. If it still wont shift then it looks like your needing a transmission rebuild.

i had the same exact prob on my cherokee, i know this sounds crazy but the throttl positioning sensor was bad. it was 17 bucks from the junk yard and now it shifts perfectly! give it a try

I had this same problem. A guys uncle I know was selling the jeep I own for 600 bucks. It didn't shift right at all. Worked to manually shift though, so I figured I would have to replace the TCM.
After I bought it, I looked over the engine and noticed a disconnected wire harness near the firewall. I connected it, and low and behold, it has shifted right ever since.

P0753 possibility.
I had a similiar issue on my '01 GC 4.0L. Tranny would only start out in 2nd. Turned out to be a bad solenoid next to the valve body in the trans. Not hard to change.
Your codes don't seem to match the code I was getting, though.

Sounds like a governor pressure solenoid. Pretty common on the chrysler transmissions. you could try and change it but if you have been driving it much theres a good chance that you burned something up.
1762 is governor offset high/low.
