Hey guys/gals, newbie here; was gonna post in the Intro section but because I just inherited a Cherokee I also have a question so I thought I would say hello and post here instead. So I just inherited a 1988 Cherokee Pioneer from a family friend. They were the original owners, it has 158k miles, is bone stock, runs like its new and basically looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. What is the best way to establish a value on a 33-year old XJ?? Is this something that needs an appraisal done to it like the classic muscle cars do? Or is that just not done on these? I know there probably aren't a ton of XJ garage queens running around, but here we are and it would kinda suck for my insurance company to just give me $1500 bucks and send me on my way if something were to happen to it. Its not for sale, I'm looking forward to getting to know it. But KBB doesn't go back that far and NADA classic does retail values, not personal. Does anyone have to use a specialty insurance company? I graduated high school in 1988 so its hard for me to wrap my mind around this thing as a "classic" now haha but I guess it is. Just like me!
