thanks for the link! I was considering putting a 400 small block in that was going to go into my nova. sold the nova so the engine needs a new home!

 

Just remember your replacing the whole drive line not just the engine.A beefed up 700r4 should be fine on a t case you have options but all will take a adapter kit pretty much.Only factory one i can think of that would work is a gm np241 from 88-98 pickups but its not the strongest one made.If you want stronger flipped dana 300 or maybe a ford np205.

 

There's quite a few SBC swapped XJ's runnin' around. Personally I would opt for a Vortec or LS motor, because fuel injection works better off camber. A 4BT swap would be realllllllly cool too!

 

Yeah i would go efi its harder of a swap but well worth it in the long run.
