Wow you are a newb, use the tape that's made for it

 

nooo it costs all of like $3 for a huge roll...no way am I paying that

 

3M makes a doube sided tape designed for that exact purpose and it works GREAT. I've been using it for years on mk3 Jetta door moldings (which if anybody is familiar with, are impossible to get to stay on) and I've never had one fall off afterwards. Gorilla glue dries rock hard and brittle, so it can't take the vibrations of a vehicle very well. You would probably be better off using bathtub silicone than gorilla glue to be honest.

Just check the adhesives isle of your local Autoparts store.... you should find the stuff I'm talking about for under $10. It's either red or blue, I don't remember which is the stronger one... just read the package.
