Alright, so my dilemma is my cherokee is a Northeast vehicle. I brought it with me to California in hopes that I could pass smog with a new cat and 2 new O2 sensors or whatever it takes. Does anyone have any options for me?

Change the oil and do a tune up with plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. If your vehicle is well maintained it should pass, and the inspector will be less likely to look for something wrong. A hacked up pile of greasy oil leaks gives a bad impression .

Ok, I can do that. Now what about the emission sticker under the hood? It says it's northeastern passable. Not Cali.

There are different parameters for a 49 state vehicle vs a 50 state ( California car). Just make sure you have everything on there that needs to be for a 49 state vehicle. Get it real hot before you take it to test it. Like drive it on the freeway at speed for 20+ minutes. Get that cat HOT. It also depends on what part of california you are going to. Ie if way up north like eureka standards are real high vs here in So cal if you so much as fart during the test yer screwed. Oh and it is wise to pay for pre test as if it fails the state SUPPOSEDLY dosent know and you can remedy the issue prior to being labeled a Gross polluter. If that happens good luck trust me i know!

Come on now positive thoughts
Seriously if you have a good fresh tune and recent oil change all will be good. If it burns oil then put synthetic in. Cali sucks. Only thing good here is the weather and all the places to wheel. The state govt suck, the people suck for the most part. I am born and raised here and i am a old man this state BITES in regards to smog standards. They change the levels all the time to where " old vehicles" like ours they want gone and replaced with stupid hybrids. I aint too far from you by the way if you want to go up to big bear to wheel sometime

since it goes into the stock box i dont think it will be an issue. i have a buddy who has a snorkel run to the stock intake and he passes visual inspection.
