I am looking to buy a bone stock, low miles jeep cherokee. Automatic, 4 door. I am wondering what kind of lift I should get. I was looking at the 6.5 rough country long arm. But tires recomended are 33's. I was looking to tuck 35's at least.. maybe add a little body lift? And aren't there spacers to push wheels out further.. also getting the SYE and CV driveshaft upgrade.. is that a smart move? About august I'll be going to a steering and suspension class where I'll be putting it on (Camden County College, number 1 automotive class in nation). Is a manual better? I'm not too good at driving stick, and I drive daily, a lot for construction. A side job will be getting me a decent income. Any ideas please message me or post? Any suggestions?

welcome to the forum and is this for a daily driver?
xj's are unibody= no body lift
wheel spacers= issues (just get offset rims so theyll stick out)
you will need a sye for a 6.5" lift and go longarm

With some fender trimming it should be doable to fit 35's. Look up how to cut and fold rear fenders too. You won't want to go hacking straight into them though. You will also probably need to bumpstop as well (limits up travel so no rub). If you are going to dd this rig you may or may not want to consider a regear, its a bit of a job though. As far as tranny's go, both the AW4 auto and AX-15 are decent setups. I only drive stick, I feel more in control of the vehicle, especially in snow, but it's preference. Only issue w/ the AX-15 that I and others have experienced is that second is a little finicky in the cold but it's fine once it warms up.

Wow thanks for the help so soon! Off set rims, long arm, no body lift, and fender trimming. A friend of mine is an auto body specialist. I'm sure he'll know what to do. Anything else comes to mind let me know

Oh and if you're gonna go with 6.5" disco's etc. you will probably want extended brake lines as well.
