Sure you can swap the carrier and gears, just remember on re-assembly to set the pinion depth & backlash.

From what I have seen you would have a problem with 3.54 on down, 3.73 you are good.

Your correct the carrier break was 3.55-3.73, but he will need to reset the gears... getting access to a press, & bearing puller is the hard part! Good luck you'll need it.

oh, we have the tools.

now, let just say that it wasn't 3.73 and there where 3.55 and i need the carrier. this carrier you speak of. what model number would i be looking for and if i need one should i jy and what would i look for. i havn't bought the frontend yet. because you guys have me thinking. he said it was 3.73. but i've heared that one before.

also, everybody keeps telling me i'll be fine running the wielded up. if anything i'll just break an axle and the axle i have are the big aftermarket axle. the guy i bought the parts jeep from did spend the money on axles.

also, i have a week to get it back together. going to redneck with paychecks next weekend and don't want to be 2wheeling.

You need bearings & spiders as well.
