How do they work in cold weather? I mean really cold weather. For example it's going to be -20f here tonight without windchill, and possibly as cold as -30f when I leave for work in the morning. Definitely interested, it seems so simple a concept...

The shop that did my tires has a machine that has on option for weights on both sides or one side of rim. They are not stick on weights. They put all of the weights on the rim facing the inside of the fender well. The last 3 shops that did my wheels all had this machine.

If you can see in the pic there are no weights on the rim (or any stick on weights)

Ahh doesn't get that cold down here in the dirty south lol but it has got to zero and they work exactly the same. I'd email or call and ask them first

Also you can use daisy bbs or airsoft pellets if the dynabeads don't work for the cold, but i can't think why they wouldnt

This is the balancer I'm talking about. I have a lot of experience with it. Have you checked dealerships?

X2 on this. I got my 12x15's done with sticky weights and you cannot see them. BTW I have the same (Cragar) center caps and after 8 months they rusted so keep them clean and I would suggest a clear coat on them. You would think for $14 a piece they wouldn't rust ...Tj

$14 A PIECE! Here. They rust real fast but they're cheap. I'm stripping the chrome on mine and painting them or bedlining them. Bunch of other stuff included too.

good to know! I only paid 10$/piece off of quadratec. Any suggestions on a product for clearcoat?

And no one here has those sticky weights. I asked at all the stores I brought it to before I ended up at Tires Plus. Didn't check with the dealer though...

I am increasingly feeling like I am the only one that doesn't give a flying freak about where the weights are.

I balance my own and have no problem putting lip weights on each side. It's a good thing, too, because my brakes fill the wheel completely up and I can't use stick ons in a very efficient manner.

New rims rock. Nice buy

Stock on weights can fly off, had one fly off my rear right tire and cause some funny wear on my tires before I realized it. seriously the dyna beads may seem a little unnecessary, but ask anyone that has them that they are worth having. Never have to worry about throwing a weight our spinning the tire on the wheel because the tires self balance....also the dynabeads are reusable.

The only reason they would come off because they were not the right style of weight. Certain weights are made for certain lips on different rims. They should go on pretty hard.
