Default New rebuild, no start

1st post here. Need some thoughts. Jeep overheated and died in april. So i did a rebuild. oulled engine, bored .30 over, machined crank, new cam, pistons, rings, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, remanned head, new oil pump and all mew bearings. It also got mew crankshaft position sensor, waterpump, thermo, and radiator. So i finally got everything hooked up, and went to start it. I am getting plenty of cranking but no start. Checked fuel pressure at rail, it is quite strong. Pretty sure i have spark cause it was all good before, and just gave it new plugs. I followed the service manual to bring to top dead center, and put the toothpick in the holes on top of the oil pump drive while installing it to make it reindex the cam position sensor. It smells really gassy when i try to start it. Dont want to crank and crank on the new cam and risk flattening any lobes. Ideas?

You need fuel, spark, and compression to get an engine going.

Make sure you have all three and they are working correctly. You do not have all three, or the engine would fire.
