I have worn out two very old ratchets in the past few weeks. One was a 30 yr old craftsman, and the other was a 20 Yr old round head thorson. So far I have only replaced one and I did so with a GM Performance ratchet from Oriley. I don;t know if it will still be in the tool box a decade or two from now, but it was really fine toothed and had a great feel to it. Not US made, but there is a lifetime warranty. I think I just might start slowly replacing my ancient ratchets with this brand.

I am not a pro, but I spend a lot of time under my own hoods. (Couple times a week). If you have personally used one, and it failed you, or it is holding up strong, I would appreciate your comments before I buy more of them.

Of, before someone ask, The Old US Thorsens are long gone, and I am personally not a big fan of the newer craftsman.

They're pretty good, not Snap-on quality, but they're good. I've used some. I mean a wrench is a wrench. But you gotta be careful when getting more complex tools... like even craftsman wrenches are good, they just hurt because they arent smooth like snap-ons. but i wouldn't recommend buying a knock of complex tool, like a torque wrench.

I'd get more input before replacing you're whole toolbox
