Default New modded xj and a few ?

bought my dream cherokee today after driving my stock 96 around around and wanting to mod it i came across the 91 i bought today it has.

8 inch rustys long arm kit
rustys flares
swaybar quik disconects
tom woods drive shafts
4.56's locker in rear
master craft seats
rustys cold air and throttle body spacer
custom back bumper
front arb winch bumper with a warn 12,000 winch
rustys header and flowmaster
15x10 black rockcrawler wheels sitting on 35 bfg mud terrains

my question is this how can i go bigger? i want to be able to run 39 boggers and dont want to cut it up unless i cant get more lift,i will post pics tomorrow, its pretty clean on the outside and immaculate inside, does 3,500 sound like i pain too much?

I would not go higher.... I would comp cut the rear and comp cut the front.

Its all about low COG.

and when you go tall you want to go wide as well...

so if you do go taller PLEASE throw full widths under it

You can probably fit 37's under it now with cut fenders(standard cut and fold)

not on your stock axles. you are talking about one of the heaviest tires out there on weak jeep axles. i would stick some 33's radials and pamper it and start collecting $$ for some real axles, dana 60 35 splines axles for the 39's you want to run

agreed with above, you not going to be able to run that big of tires with stock axles, they'll snap with any gas you give it.

One thing you can do get more clearance is boat side the rockers and do some more trimming of the fendors.

Post up pictures so we can help even more

If you want tires for a wow factor... You bought the wrong vehicle. Have you wonderd why you never see cherokees with 40's on them? It would take way more work than just axles. That thing would b a complete turd on and off road with the stock powerplant. JMO

I see tons of cherokees with 40s under them. They aren't turds either, they are all running 5.18s or 5.38s.

x2 On the wow factor, that is a dumb way to waste 1000+ dollars on for tires. Why get tires just for the wow factor? So you can get all the chicks? You did say this was going to be a playtoy, so why the hell would you put 39s on it for only the wow factor? Not trying to be a dick, just wondering. Also you said you wouldn't be doing much mud, why get boggers if you're not going to be doing very much mud?

You definitely don't need another 3 inches to fit 39s. I know guys with less than 6 inches of lift on 38s and 39s. You need fullwidths, probably d60/14b and a lot of cut-off wheels or a sawzall. You're gonna want to go long arms or a custom suspension. You're gonna want to get someone to build you a roll cage or build one yourself. There is a lot of things you have to factor in here. With 35x14.50 boggers or anything bigger you WILL eventually be going with fullwidth axles. Are you gonna run high steer arms? how about hydro assist or full hydro steering? What will you do about the tie rod and drag link? Track bar/panhard bar? Are you gonna go with a custom rear suspension setup, or are you gonna keep the leaves? Driveline angles? Shocks?

Like I said, there is a bunch of stuff you will need to do to be able to run 35s and especially anything bigger.
