Hello, just bought my daughter a 97 Cherokee SE with I6 4W. Very nice, clean body, high mileage but motor and trans seem to run very good. I found out from this site I had a NSS issue when check engine light came on and no reverse lights. Followed the tutorial that was posted as a link to remove, clean and replace. Worked perfectly after that! Many thanks for the great step by step.
I have 3 questions, hope I am posting this right...
1. The evap canister located on pass side, (in pic) the top is broken off..will this effect anything?

2. Right by the evap canister coming from the wire harness is a loose wired connection that unless I am blind, can't find anywhere to attach. Not sure if this is important or not?

3. While underneath installing the NSS switch I found a hose that was just hanging un-attached. Looked at vacuum diagram and still not sure where this goes. It's on the pass side running by the NSS switch. It runs towards the back of the jeep up and over to drivers side and is attached with a clamp.

#2. That probably is the under hood light. It should have one light fixture bolted on the hood.
#3. That look like to be a transfer case vent tube. It must have fallen down lower. Typically it goes above the transmission somewhere. U can extend it up to the engine bay too if u want.

Thanks Wonders!
Thanks for the advice. I will look into that...after looking up transfer case vent tube I believe you are right. Like the idea of extending up into engine compartment and saw on a thread where they put a filter on as well. Might not be a bad idea to do with all vent tubes...many thanks for the response!!
