New frame and floorboard???
Hey guys it has been a really long time since I was on here but thought I would run something buy you guys. Since the day I sold my jeep I have been aching to get another one. Problem is I bought a house a year ago so money is tight. I have thought and thought about the best way to have a jeep and still have a fun sensible daily driver. Anyways I have came up with a wild idea for a jeep. But the part I am most worried about is I had the idea to cut out the entire floorboard and start from scratch frame and all. I am going to be running completely out of the ordinary motor, tranny, axles, and biggest part the body. I just thought that with all this modification it would be easier to to build my own frame rather than try to use what is there.
What do you guys think???
Let me know.
More details if you guys need them.

Technically our Cherokees dont have a frame. They are a uni-body, so what youre talking about doing is building a vehicle from scratch? I dont know man, LOTS of Cherokees in good shape out there for small money. This sounds like a LOT of work.....if its even possible. Not even sure where to begin.

Yes I am basically going to build one from scratch. I know the don't have frames. I was just planning on some major modifications and the major problem is my plans for the body. I want to combine the front of a 4 door with the back of a 2 door which will basically give me 4 FULL doors instead of the kinda half door that the rears are. Then I am going to cut the back off and have like a 4 or 5 foot bed. It looks pretty sweet in my head. Hahahaha.

I guess anything is possible, Ive seen some REALLY out there customs. But you do know too, the 2 door is MUCH bigger than the 4 door, door-wise. So youd end up with the front doors being smaller than the rear doors, unless you did a lot more modding to get the front doors off a 4 door on the rear. Seems like a LOT of work for a few inches. Just buy a Wagoneer.

Well no my plan is to just cut the back bottom corner off the doors and weld them to the regular rear doors so I have a taller back part of the door. Then use the 2 door body from the middle of the door back to use for my truck bedsides. Kinda difficult to explain it I ever get a chance I may try to Photoshop some stuff to kinda give people a better idea of what I want to do.
