Longtime lurker and just finally made an account last week.

Ive been searching for a relatively clean XJ for 3 months or so. I found some that had a lot of mods but most wanted more than I wanted to spend considering almost all of them had mismatched parts or somethings I didn’t want or body mods I wasn’t sure I wanted to do.

I just picked up a 2000 XJ Sport with 180k miles, 4.0 4x4.

Previous owner had a new head, gasket and lifters installed, new water pump, radiator and hoses as well.

Ive already ordered some parts ( mostly cosmetic ) and I’m researching lift kits but I think I’m set on Iron Rock Offroad’s Long Arm 4” lift.

I also plan plan on doing a rear disc brake conversion and I’m researching the best way to do that currently since I will be buying new wheels and tires it seems like a better decision to do that now.

Tomorrow I’ll be getting some paint to freshen up the end caps and molding as well as repainting the wiper blade arms.

Here’s the XJ I purchased.

Thank you & that’s the plan. Waiting on my parts to get here. Once most are here I’ll start my build thread. Gonna start working on getting the underside cleaned up this week to coat it.

Welcome to the Medium Fern Green Metallic club! Pretty rare to find one in good condition anymore - I know, I am looking for another.

Unless you're going to offroad extensively, a short arm kit with a drop will ride better. I looked into this and its what I did on mine.

Thank you, I love this color! I wish my paint was in as good of condition as yours is but it'll do for now. You're right about finding these Jeeps especially this color in good condition plus everyone here in the Bay Area lists their XJs for 3-5k over book.

Still researching lifts before I pull the trigger. This isn't my DD and will mostly be used for camping, wheelin' and driving on BLM land when I go target shooting.
