Default Neon Fuel Injectors

So it's finally come up on my list. Is it just ordering the right number Neon injectors and a simple disconnect/plug in? Or do I need a new rail or anything? Mine's a 92, might I have to reset the PCM if I experience poor performance, or is that for the later model XJs? I also know a few people sell the injectors off CF, so I'm going to get in touch with them first, but want to know if there's anything else I need or need to know before I do this.

Cheers

Go through Programbo. He's the most trusted seller on here. Just a simple plug and play for you. I always suggest resetting the computer after any type of intake/exhaust/fuel delivery modification.

I'll definitely get in touch with him then! And sounds good! Is the resetting pretty much this?

"Disconnect the battery terminals and touch them together for 30 seconds. (This is to discharge the PCM capacitors, which maintain the Adaptive Memory.)
Reconnect the Battery Cables
Turn Ignition Switch to the “On” position but DO NOT start the engine
Turn Headlight “On”
Turn Headlights “Off”
Turn Ignition Key “Off”"

Thanks

That's it. If you need a write up there's one in my signature. There's another in the write up section with pics.

I did this swap on Saturday. Its super simple, though my old injectors put up a helluva fight comming out.

Definitely do the pcm reset, my jeep ran ok without it but ran much smoother with it.

Not a problem. One of the reasons we're all on here.

There's reported better mileage, as well as better throttle response. You're going from the stock one hole on the injectors, to 4 per. And it looks like the 4 are bigger than just the one. I've heard nothing but great things about this upgrade.

Went to my JY to look for these. Found tons of them. The clerk at the desk... Some big, fat, nasty, miserable looking sod said $50 for the neon fuel rails w/ injectors... PSH. I can get a set of six, refurbished and shipped for less than that off these CF members. WTF am I going to do with a Dodge Neon fuel rail and four injectors, that MIGHT work???

Had a rough, day. Needed to vent somewhere.

You found them cheaper than $50 on CF? I've found between $50-60 here at CF. And honestly as long as a trusted member here has a set, I'll buy them from here, opposed to a site/NAPA. I too would rather buy refurbished working injectors, too.

Okay so $50... There was a guy selling for $45 IIR. Guess he faded off. Don't know why 86-Chief's vendor thread got locked? Too many complaints???

I'm also pissed because the manifold I was going to get shot up $20 before I could buy.

well my question is now that since you are going from 1 to 4 holes and they are bigger wouldn't that go down on mpg? i am not to fuel system smart.

Most don't see a mpg increase. If they do it's due to putting in clean injectors. The 4 ports provide a better spray pattern which burns easier, resulting in a better throttle response and smoother idle. The 91+ computers are adaptive, meaning that after being reset, they "relearn" the proper air/fuel ratios, which is why you don't see a mpg drop even though the 703's/784's run at 21psi compared to the stock 19psi.

Now, just get your bored throttle body and you'll be set.
