That sucks it didn't look like a bad buy tell pushing 300k is about the end of the lift for the 4.0.

we looked at a 94 cherokee 2 door today. it has a salvage title because of some very mild damage on the drivers door. looks like someone bumped into one of those posts at the gas station. my buddy's dad is worried about the salvage title though. he seems to think its got frame damage somewhere. all the panels line up perfect, and all doors/rear hatch/hood open and close as they should and line up perfectly. the owner/seller said he bought it 2 years ago from an insurance auction from Progressive. it shows this on the title. ive looked it over really well and i cant see any spots where the frame (i use that term loosely, i know its a unibody) wrinkled or was otherwise compromised. the VIN came back clean other than the salvage title.

Only bad thing i can say about a salvage title is some insurance companies won't give full coverage on it if it has one.As long as it was fixed right i would drive it.

Don't just jump on the first thing. You can find a really good deal on a Jeep if you have the patience.

Why not pick it up and replace the drive train? You sound like that's something you'd be capable of.

we would, but the seller wont budge on the price. 1900 is an awful lot for a 91, especially with 280k+ miles on it.
