I need about 3 more inches of wire, is it ok to splice and crimp the wires on a o2 sensor?

No crimp use a good solder. I just did this to my 02 sensor wires last week after they somehow came in contact with my exhaust manifold. is this for a new oxygen sensor? because there are 2 different types one with 14" of wire and the other with 18" of wire. make sure it is a NTK or NGK brand because they were the original manufactures for the jeep brand.

I bought new NGK 23151. The wires are short for one of the connectors. It's tight but it still connects (barely). Are the crimps with solder any good?

I used the crimp connecters with heat wrap on them, no problems so far

U should be fine with crimps and shrink wrap but the crimps some times start 2 corrode.
