My free welder came with an 30 foot extension cord made from 4 conductor 6ga SJOO wire. Its heavy as hell and it probably cost a fortune to buy that wire but it works like a champ.
It has a 30A male dryer plug on one end and a tiwst-lock plug that attaches to the welder. I also make a adapter so that I can plug it into the 50A oven plug in my kitchen as I have no dryer.
Use the largest gauge of wire you can. If you go too small you'll be wondering why your welds come out like crap from the voltage drop.
