I am looking to sell my 2001 Cherokee Sport 4dr automatic, but I do not know how much to ask for it. It runs and drives well enough, been very reliable for me, but I have a third child on the way so I got myself something with more seating (a dodge journey). It has 180,610 miles, A/C and heater work, all lights and accessories work (except underhood light), upgraded to putco headlight harness. Its eqipped with the Command Trac part-time 4wd, dana 30 front, chrysler 8.25 rear aw4 automatic transmission. Stock (likely original) front and rear springs, dead shocks/struts (at least they seem gone), springs are worn though, rear is basically flat. Head cracked at 146k miles, replaced with rebuilt head and new radiator. Some clicking in the right front when turning has lead me to replace that hub and u-joint, but still happens occasionally. Paint is pretty worn, sanded the roof and covered with bedliner. Most interior plastic is okay except cargo area trim. Leaks a bit of fluid, but I just top it off here and there.

I would just go to autotrader.com, cars.com. or any other car sales website and look up vehicles that are like yours (year, make, model, trim, accessories, condition, mileage, etc) and see what others are selling them for. And see what used car places are selling them for around where you live... If I had to guess, I would say between $1500 and $3000, thats kind of a large range at such a low price, but you could get lucky with $3000 from the right person. Bet on $1500 - $2000-ish I would say just from reading your description.

After 25 years in the "car business" I would ask $4900 ....there is a butt for every seat.... be patient, if after a couple of weeks drop the price a few hundred and repeat the process....
Around me (New England) that sort of XJ would likely sell for $2kish (give or take $300).
I should add that it would have to be inspectable to get that $$. If it wouldn’t take a sticker then I’d expect $1kish

No offense to the OP, but did you read the full description he laid out? Its not in very good shape and needs repairs. I paid $4000 for my XJ and it looks and runs like it is 10 years old inside and out, not almost 25 years old with 218,000 miles. Brand new paint, no rust, maintenance records, etc. And I live in a place where jeeps are sought after.. Denver, CO where everyone like to go wheelin'... Really good condition XJ's (if you can find one) around here aren't any more than what I paid.... But like you said, there's a seat for every butt. Someone may be hard up for a jeep like that....

They're pretty popular here too, but prices seem all over the place for every condition. One man's trash is another man's treasure ya know. Thanks for the input.
Thank you for all who have responded so far, and anyone who might still chime in.

If I were selling this Jeep I would set the price at 2200 and be willing to take 1800. If there's a market for it in your area then setting the price at 15-18 would sell pretty quickly I imagine.
