Default Need Help Deciding On A Winch?

All right im probably going to order my Winch Tomorrow, ...... But need help deciding between

Smittybilt X2O 10,000LB Amphibious Technology Waterproof Winch

http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Winches-Jeep..._pn=S%2fB97310

Or

Quadratec's New Q11000. 11,000LB Winch

http://www.quadratec.com/products/92122_2001_07.htm

Quadratec's isn't waterproof but I'd save a little more money for something else.

I need help deciding I don't know which to get. If anybody has either one and could give me some pros and cons maybe it could help me decide.

Thanks in advance.

Oh I would most definitely go over every exposable bolt to check and make sure they were tight. Before using it. I don't ever trust companies quality control checks. It's always better to be safe than sorry. But thanks for the tip. Much appreciated.

The Quadretec's are built by the same company that owns Smittybilt, but in a different facility. Quadretec specifically said they wanted to be able to use different internals than Smittybilt (this coming from one of Quadretec's reps). With either, you're getting a good deal. Another to check out is RC. I got my RS9500 with synthetic from them (through Grimmus on here) and am very happy with it. It's a little louder and slower then the XRC8, but I have more pull, and synthetic compared to steal for less. To me it was worth the savings.

Thanks for the input guys. The more I think about it the more I lean toward the Smittybilt. I like that its waterproof and smittybilt has been around along time so it should be a great winch and last a long time. Im kinda leery about a new product when it first comes out so the Quadratec winch could develop some problems being new and all.

Well I'll be placing my order today when I get off work. I'm going with the Smittybilt X2O-10 Which is there 10,000Lb Winch and its Waterproof which I really like so don't have to worry about any of the electronics getting wet. Or any water getting into the motor and damaging it. So all and all should be an excellent Winch. Later on down the road I'll switch it over to Synthetic Winch Line and a hawse fair lead but for now the Steel Cable should serve me just fine. If there are any vendors on here that see my post and sell this Winch let me know what kinda deal you can do for me. Because if I order from 4wd.com today I can get it for $475.00 with free shipping and a free winch cover for it. If a vendor here can match that I will gladly order from you instead because I think helping support a cherokee forum vendor would be better. Than a big Retail Chain Store.

You're gonna have a nice big, heavy box at your door step. I have the XRC8000 & am very pleased. Wish I had the synthetic rope though. Good luck, post pic's & a review on how she works.

Ya I plan on upgrading to synthetic rope later on down the road. But the steel cable should serve me just fine for the time being.
