Ok so i've read all the bad, and yes, I used the search function... But i was curious, has anyone had good luck with Nate? I was looking on his site today and he has a front bumper onsale for $150, and I was thinking of buying it, searched about his site, and found mainly bad remarks about him. But I emailed him earlier today and asked what the turn around time on that bumper would be and he said about 3 buisness days, and it only took about an hour for him to respond. So is it worth taking the chance? Worst comes to worst I can call my bank and get a refund right?

Thanks, Jake

i have his front bumper, it took me about 2-3 months to get mine when he said it would take 3 weeks, maybe his busness has slowed down from all the E-hate and he has bumpers finished already, give him a call and order then if he gives you the run around cancel the order.
i like my bumper it is strong and mounts good i have used it to pull a couple people out, its a good bumper for the cash, i did have to clean it up a bit before paint(some splater from welds and a lil surface rust) but that was no big deal

i had a bad experience with JCR as did two of my friends. i had heard nates4x4 had slowed down due to losing help or something like that. just come up with a design you like and have someone fab it up for you.

I would go to JCR but i dont have that kind of money. And as far as fabing one goes, i can weld and I have a band saw, only thing I dont have is a mandrel bender, so all I would need is someone to bend my pipes. But with me living an hour and a half from home in an apartment for school, I dont have much time to fab one, although i would love to.

If you like Nates bumper and the price just enter into the purchase believing that it could take considerably longer than he states to receive it. Then you may walk away as a happy customer in the end.

If your in a hurry i would shop elsewhere.

Theres a reason his site isnt www.fastcheapandawesomebumpers.com.

That's just how they work there!

Also, here is a thread worth reading about Nates4x4 before purchasing from them in my opinion. Lots of other stuff in the thread, but you get the general idea.

I like my Nate's bumper a lot, but I went and picked mine up at his shop. I had my dad go to his shop a week in advance to tell him to build a couple of them up since I would be in town with cash in hand. He seemed like a good, hard-working guy that was just way in over his head. I hope he got all of his back-orders filled, because there were a lot of mad people on the internet.

I say go for it. It is still a smoking deal weather you get it in four days or four weeks. Here is my '95 sporting his 97-01 bumper.

to sum up all questions in one post; ordered a rear bumper from JCR about 2-3 years ago when i was starting out with my jeep, waited for almost two months without receiving it, called and they had lost my order so they sent me someone else's. after getting it and installing it, it did not line up right on my XJ, one side fit higher than the other which caused the tailgate to not properly close. got rid of it and returned to a stock bumper w/ a hitch. a friend of mine had a set of sliders that did not properly line up on his XJ, and you guys wouldn't do anything to help him. another friend of mine had a similar situation to what i had in waiting a long time for 1 ton steering, i think he kept being told that it would be shipped out soon every time he called, got it and it did not properly fit his XJ so he had to pay additional money at a shop to make it fit.

this is in no way meant to be bashing the quality of work you guys do. i have heard many good things about the quality of your companies work and customer service. just from my personal experience and what i saw with two of my friends, i can honestly say i was kinda disappointed because it came highly recommended when i was looking for a bumper to buy. like i said, not trying to bash or give you guys a bad wrap, but you all asked so i gave an honest explanation, and maybe my experience and my friends was just a strange occurrence, because most other people have nothing but good things to say.
