my xj transformation
i trimmed my fenders,bedlined it,removed rear sway bar,installed 99 GC rims and 255/70/16 tires, replaced entire front brake system,i kno it might not seem alot but i did all this for around $250 and im only 17 and a senior in highschool,theres still alot to do but i think i already made a great improvement over the way it used to be,tell me what yall think,and im open to ANY suggestions on future projects or well...anythin else lol

looks good so far. only thing I can see right away is the rear fenders, IMO you should trim them too. If you are on a tight budget a junkyard lift is a great way to get 4-4,5 inches of lift. It is s10 bastard packs in the rear and older F150 coils up front. Then you can find a cheap set of 31's or 32's and it will look like a totally different jeep.

i plan on 2inch spacers in the front with GC v8 front coils,and a bastard pack in the rear,just everythin down here in the jy's are rusted all to hell so im SOL for the most part on gettin things like that

craigslist craigslist craigslist. as good if not better then the jy. either GC or wranger coils for the front and s10 leafs for the rear and you got yourself a lift for cheap. just look for deals and dont over spend.

I used V8 coils+2" spacer up front and got 3.5". For the rear I added the top 2 leaves from a good XJ pack and got 3", and also added a 1/2" solid spacer in the rear for 3.5" all around. Added shocks and it rode better than my wife's stock '98 Explorer. Great work guy, keep it up!

I didn't extend brake lines, just located them a little lower and I live in FL so I'm no rock crawler. I didn't do a SYE, just a t-case drop and 3* axle shims and I never had vibrations. I may have been able to get away without the shims, but figured I should go ahead and add them while I had it all apart.
