I was in a similar situation myself on I95 right outside Washington DC an instead of anyone stopping after I was rear ended an rolled I actually had a couple people drive by point an laugh, luckily I was in a rental an not any of my vehicles but im glad to see you walked away on your own accord but sorry to see that beautiful Xj in such a mess. You should deff buy that back from the insurance company and if no one will lend you a trailer then next cheapest way would be renting a uhaul car dolly

If it was a rear end accident. The 2 of the 3 senors or whatever might now have been triggered...

I am at walmart right now and they have this one for $20. This ones a little complicated, but i'm sure you can find one cheaper. I think any auto parts should have one.

The impact was pretty much under the bumper, that's probably why the bags didn't go off. There is white paint on the bottom edge of the bumper, the leaf springs and exhaust (and tire). If you look at the pic with the Jeep upside down, you will notice the exhaust was bent straight down, so it's facing up... up side down.

You made that sound confusing Also the senors are up front. i dont think there are any sensors in the rear of the xj.

Good to hear you're alright. At least the accident didn't look like this

I rear ended a malibu last saturday with my XJ. I was doing 10 under the speed limit and it was raining, I was on a winding lakeside road and was coming around a blind corner. As soon as I got around the bend, I saw a car sitting only 10 feet in front of me and had no room to stop. I locked up my brakes and slid straight into the car, totaling it.

I was doing about 30 mph and my Jeep only had a couple scratches on the bumper and a crack in the grill. What sucks is the airbag never deployed so my head hit the steering wheel pretty hard.

What REALLY sucks is the cop who came to the accident scene wrote me a ticket saying I was "following too close". I never saw that malibu till I hit it so obviously it isnt the case. I'm just hoping I'm able to win in court.
