96 XJ...I have a question. I like what your telling him about the isolater.

Suppose I want an extra battery that if for some reason (like left my lights on all day) the battery died. I could flip a switch and get a fully charged battery to start the jeep and then allow the alternator to charge the dead one. Is this something that could be done easily? Where would the best place be for the secondary battery...in the engine compartment or elsewhere?

Well i was thinking about making a battery hold down in the rear of the XJ maybe behind my drivers seat. Either that or make a "CAI" and put your battery where the air box goes.

yes if u upgraded your alt. then it would charge both of them. evenly.
bc that charge is going to both batterys...but there will be a voltage drop to the 2nd battery bc of the reststance and distance
