Use OEM size tires. An aftermarket intake is supposed to increase gas mileage slightly. Upgrade fuel injectors. Check and change oil on schedule. And a the other member said, drive slower and less aggressive. Try to keep the RPM's around 2000 in the highway.

To the OP, it's an XJ. Even with the most "fuel efficient" mods people will give you, the most you will prob squeeze out of your XJ is 21-22 mpg highway. This includes converting your mech fan to an electric fan, fuel injector upgrade, keeping everything clean and in good maintenance, free-flowing exhaust, CAI....

But hey, you have a damn good vehicle that can handle any weather or terrain and still drive well on Interstate!
