Met a guy at Autozone this week with a rig identical to mine...year, trim line, wheel style, even color. He's got 416K and no major issues. Pretty impressive!

I saw a Renix smoking like crazy today with something molten and extremely hot coming from the underside, took a pic.... I assumed it overheated ? It was on fire ?

just rolled tonite 422,706. head was replaced at 364,000 cracked #1. A little blow by but it leaks way more oil than it burns.

90 sport, 5spd, stock

Excellent read and super clean xj.... I had an 88 5spd with 190k flawless miles before selling it to my brother, who sold it a yr later... pisses me off all over again seeing this, as he was suppose to give me first dibs if he ever sold it..

i have a 98 grand cherokee 2wd v6

its got close to 179k on it.

not much engine problems that i know of

i have to fix or replace the exhaust manifold

not sure it might be leaking any oil i don't think it is i just think its years of stuff thats accumulated under the hood

it would really be nice to get it cleaned up but i am afraid to use water on an engine i had an x roommate that used to use a hose to hose down his engine compartment two or three times a year but then if there was a problem he was a mechanic and could fix it.

i am hoping to get many more miles on this jeep thats why i am doing a bunch of repairs to get the ac, windows etc working.

The XJ I gifted my father (his first BTW), rolled over 521,XXX before spinning a rod bearing and losing the crank. Poor Renix was rattling so bad at that point, yet still got him home.

They will last forever and a day, if treated right. I race my Renix/H.O. bastard child in the desert, she's got about 350K on the clock (Renix computer driving a H.O. motor), and she sees redline a lot, but with frequent oil changes with GOOD oil, she's still pretty inside, bearings still look excellent, etc. (Cracked them apart while changing rear main just to satisfy my curiosity.)

1996 with 580,000. Everything is original. They use it for AAA road side assistance.

I have no idea the mileage on the motor in my Jeep, it's a junkyard motor, but it runs great! The Jeep itself, including the original AW4 and NV231, have about 200,500 miles on them. Unfortunately the original 8.25 on the build sheet didn't make it that far, and the PO replaced it with a D35
