Miss My Old Pals. And one rookie question
Hi
This is Winter in LA
Finally here, feels like coming home.
They were my old fellas
White XJ 2in lift and Black WJ 2in lift and painted by my buddy
Got them 9 years ago when I was in China
Drive XJ for 2 years and WJ for 4 years
Lot of good memories with them, trips and off-roads
You guys might feel a little weird about the white one so I "opened the hood" then still familiar right?

Consider it is sort of " XJ China Edition" after 2005
Looking for an XJ recently
However it's really hard to find a good one, I mean price.....
And.....WJ is lot cheaper than XJ in the market.
I hate myself for saying this but from my experience WJ is way more comfy and powerful than XJ....
I love boxy 4x4s
Anybody please tell me why? Classic as Ford Branco?
Merry Christmas Guys!
Thanks!
Best

XJ market is kind of crazy right now. Theres a glut of clean lightly used WJs so prices are lower and yes V8 WJs will be more powerful than a XJ.
you see this with other luxury style SUVs as well not just the Garand Cherokee. These were bought by typically well to do people who were more likely to have the money to have garages and to keep them well maintained where as Cherokee prices were basement level for a long time and caused them to be bought and used as disposable vehicles

Most likely. They aren't making them anymore and people continue to hack them up with plasma cutters and sawsalls. I think we'll see the XJ move into Full Size Wagoner (SJ) territory in my lifetime. It's not uncommon to see clean Wagoners going for 20 grand or more now days with some fully restored examples going for upwards 50 grand.
Will the XJ ever see a 50 grand price tag? Eh probably not. But you never know. I do know there is a 84 XJ over on the Davis Autosports website that is going though a restoration and getting a new 2.8L Cummins diesel dropped in it that they are saying is going to be priced in the 40 grand range.

Yea I see the cost of nice XJ Cherokees going up around here also and they are getting a lot harder to find. part of why I got the one I have in the state I got it and repaired. I do get a little grief from some for modifying it because it was so nice!
