Default matte paint anyone?

Anybody matte paint their xj? Black's cool but I wouldn't mind seeing some color as well.

I used Plasti Dip to paint some flat black accents on my hood a couple weeks ago. It was kind of a test, I'd never used it before. I'm itching to do more.

My last XJ ('92), I painted matte OD Green and matte black (I spend a lot of time in the woods). It was originally white and in the summer in Arkansas, I was going snow-blind whenever I drove it.

Yes 3 gallons, and that's the minimum. It's pre-thinned from Plasti dip at Dipyourcar.com.

Yeah, it takes a lot but it runs about $60 a gallon (I think) and the Earl HVLP sprayer is $130 so you end up with a pretty bad***, easy to maintain paint job for about $300. And if you don't like it, just peel it off and try again.

Here's my flat tan that I did with a rattle can. I went with some military restoration company that has their own color codes from the military. The spray was a lot better than a normal can, it came out thick and even. Real good stuff

I was going to try and spray auto paint and use a matte clear coat.
