Default material for a Snorkel

i replaced the stock filter with a k & n but i have had problems many times with my jeep dieing in the water so i really want to make a snorkel because i cant afford to buy a new one...... so what is the best material for a snorkel ??? thanks for any one that can help

black pvc is actually abs. abs warps when it is in direct sunlight. white pvc or green pvc does not warp and can be painted black.

you can use abs though because of how short apiece you will be using.

White pvc painted black FTW! I used all white PVC for that. The intake is a floor drain with the drain grill.

Yeah I used 2" white PVC painted black for my old jeeps snorkel. worked great and sounded cool too. I had that thing in water over the hood a couple times and it never died

If I did it again I would have put two ball valves in the air box for street use. I did notice a power loss with the snorkel. With that Yota power was not overflowing.

Yeah thats true, but I never drove that jeep on the roead with that snorkel, it was strictly 4Lo in the mud. And it was carbureted so i just attached it straight to the top of the carb and put a big K&N filter on the end of the snorkel so maybe thats why I didnt notice any power loss
