Main seal valve
I just purchased a 2000 jeep cherokee and its leaking oil bad, the guy said that it was the main seal? is that something i could fix myself? im open to any advice thanks

If its the rear main seal. Its not a bad fix. A few hrs. You will need a new oil pan gasket, rear main seal, Tourqe wrench for the Crank bearing. (80 Lb. Tourqe) I would recommend a brass or aluminum puch to help remove the old seal. Preferably aluminum. Socket wrench Extentions,Wable, I think the socket sizes are 11MM, 13MM and 18MM. Dont quote me though i cant remember. And make sure you put the new seal in the right way. I put mine in backwards the first time. So i did it twice. If you have a lift, 4 inchs or higher it will be a big help. To help keep a little clean drain your oil the night before so you arent getting drips the hole time. Hope this helps
