made myself a hot air intake
as the title states - I made a nice cone on a stick setup today.
3"-2.5" reducing elbow (to fit on throttle body)
3"-4" rubber drainage pipe fitting w worm clamps alrdy on it
1' of 4" thin wall drainage pipe
spectre open element air filter
1 - 2.5" stainless steel worm clamp
complete total investment roughly $70.
I ordered the elbow and 1 clamp from intakehoses.com
I got the drainage fittings from ace hardware
I got the filter at vatozone
everything went together very smooth. I had to cut about 3" off the pipe to make everything fit where the old airbox was.
I also rerouted my brake booster hose from the 99+ intake swap. I removed a 90* vacuum fitting from the old intake and placed it on the new one. now i need to get a T fitting for the ccv lines, which will happen soon.
BEFORE (note the brake booster line)
AFTER
close up of the elbow and fitting
corrected brake booster hose
the new air intake touches the hood when it's shut, but not enough to worry me. because I got dat airflow now.
