Mike, I have owned 3 XJs, a TJ, an now my ZJ. Only the TJ was a 4cyl... The XJs mileage were 240k, 255k, and 286k, now my ZJ I just rebuilt at 190k. They have the capability to go 2-300k+ without major problems, just depends on how they were cared for. Look for an owner than keeps their receipts. That can show they took care of it... Outside of that it's hit or miss above 200k but as you seen in here. There are a lot that are 220k+ and still going strong..

Ok so I have found another one http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/2889387714.html
My question now is what is the difference with the "classic", I am going to look at it tonight.

So I found it!!!!! Saturday I am picking up a 96 Xj w/ 143k miles, 31" tires, 4" lift in front, 4.75" in the back. Lp C 8.25 rear end w/3.55 gears, Dana 30 in front. The previous owner got it as a 2wd and did the conversion to 4x4 w/n 231 transfer case, extended brake lines, 300lbs roof rack, and a few other odds and ends. We settled on $2800 without a stereo(not a big deal). We are meeting on saturday to transfer the title. I am pretty f***** excited
here are some pics.
