PA to WY. 3 days 42 hours. 2400 miles I think. No problems at all. That was 2 years ago. Still running fine. Just recently from WY to the oregon coast. 800 miles. Still fine. No Problems.

Longest I've taken my XJ is about 600 miles round trip, NY to CT. I had a trip to AR from NY on New Years, but I took a rental car since I had a tail light out on the XJ.
I've considered a thread for the following question: What's the longest trip towing with a XJ?
I'll be using the XJ to tow a Uhaul down to AR (1300 miles) in a few months.

Taken the 99XJ with around 100k on the clock from Chicago to Champaigne, IL round trip only about 300 miles (weak) and no problems.
I'm currently planning an epic adventure to Buenos Aires. Driving almost 4k miles to Colon, Panama, sailing the XJ across the Darien Gap to Colombia, then driving it another 3k miles to Argentina.
Total trip will be around 7,000 miles though I'll be taking about 2 months to do it. I'll be going through every aspect of the Jeep's suspension every weekend until March 2015 (when I plan to leave).
I'll post a thread closer to the date this summer.
I've read blogs of guys doing the exact trip in a 198X mercedes diesel benz and a Toyota Landcruiser and having problems with suspension (axles) and overheating. Let's hope the baby can make it through this journey.

So far it was upstate NY to Nashville TN. Did great, but the CPS took a dump on me wen I got there so that was fun changing it in the hotel parking lot lol other then that took it like a champ! Planning on going from NY to CA here in about a month. Just did the entire front end (brakes, hubs, u joints, and most of the suspension) last couple weeks. Just need to put in the new speakers and O2 sensors and I should be good!
Like drive across the Arctic Ocean?
