I feel your pain man. Had a few thousand dollars of Christmas presents in my wife's car. Stopped in Georgia at a friends house on the way to PA and the one night we were there, someone broke into it and stole everything- presents, subs, all kinds of stuff. Makes you want to shoot someone. They should make a system that electrifies the car or something so when a person touches it without pressing a button etc. they get shocked. Badly.

It gets annoying when an OP posts something and doesn't respond back. This isn't Spam is it. Trying to get people to feel bad for no reason. Not doubting cause i know a good portion of Long Island but you never know

As for everyone else I really appreciate the support and don't worry I've been lurking on Craigslist every night. We have a lead on who might have taken them but no proof yet. Keeping a close eye on the kid though.
If anyone happens to find any postings on here or Craigs or anywhere please let me know. I'm from Suffolk county by the way. Thanks again.

This isn't spam *******. Sorry I've been a little busy with work, school, and trying to find my stolen stuff. Hope that's okay with you.

And its true. Many ppl have used Google pics and tried to scam for whatever purpose. Look at my first posts, asked where you were from and to ask neighbors and look out for craigslist. I know you're pissed. I grew up in Brooklyn. During the summer, always had kids going through the backyard.
Keep ya chin up and i hope you catch the person that took em. The should be valued enough that its a felony IIRC

I'm in Suffolk County (South Shore), good neighborhood, no burglaries or robberies…yet. I have wheel locks and I just installed a infrared camera to cover the driveway. I actually checked CL for you and will keep checking until we catch the bastards.

a sack of oragned work too, and you get a refreshing snack after. But that does suck, I just got wheel locks, theyre rounder with little grooves. As far as security beyond that, I have to dogs that will bark at anything in the yard, gives me enough time to grab the machete from behind the door, or go grab the 12g from the safe.

When I bought my XJ it had wheel locks but the key was missing. I took all 4 off in 5 minutes with a pipe wrench. Easy peasy.
Locks only keep honest people honest. They do nothing to stop criminals.

The good ones are the smooth sided key hole type variety. I have had both and it is a major pain to try and remove the smooth sided ones. The other ones are easy like you said.

I think the Gorilla locking lugs would be a good option. Like others said, they're grooved a certain way, so no key. And you get a whole set for your wheels. So instead of having one locked lug per wheel, you'll have 5 that are a PITA to remove. A thief will take whatever they want, but this would have been either too time consuming, or would have required tools, thus making noise, and in OP's case, that could have helped him. Since it sounds like they just jacked the Jeep up, put blocks under, and undid the lugs nuts.
