Default Lockers question

Hi everyone! So i have a question about lockers. I went to the Jeep car show today and seen EVERYONE had "ARB" Air lockers, So I went to look at what it would cost me for ARB lockers. There website said $1,000. Is there a cheaper alternative that will work for light duty trails? I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0L I6, AX-15 Manual Tranny, Dana 35 Rear end. I was also told that Dana 35 rear end in my jeep is complete trash, Can anyone confirm that? Thanks

A automatic or "lunchbox" locker will cost well under half that and u can install it yourself in 2-3 hrs......no ring/pinion set-up a lunchbox locker. Add another $300-$500 to the price of the part have a shop (labor) install the ARB. Does a lunchbox have as big a ***** as a full case locker?....no......will it work well on both street and offroad......u bet.

I would not use a locker in a D35.

I absolutely love my ARB airlocker.

u can pickup a 29 spline 8.25 for cheap and it'll be a direct swap and twice as strong as your 35. i would lunchbox the rear as its cheap and works great and do a selectable in the front (maybe a e locker or ox). arb is nice and all, but too pricey imo.

I got a compressor, switches, wiring, 4.56 ring and pinion, and the locker itself for $350 used.

I have an ARB locker in my D44 rear. The one I got for $350 with accessories was for my HPD30 front axle so I can have airlockers front and rear.

I'm sorry you feel no one wants a HPD30 front axle. I really enjoy mine.

Why dont you run your mouth a bit more, and make some more amazing smartass assumptions that are wrong.

i misread your other post i thought you said to arb the 35 and thats what you found the deal on . in that case good for you, that is indeed a steal and i would do a arb as well if i could come across a deal like that. but i would still never pay full price for a arb, and all its components when you can do the e locker or ox locker thats easier, cheaper and just as reliable imo as a arb.

I found it on here, too.

You can get them for around $500 usually. My deal ended up being 'local', about 3 hours away.

Anyone heard of the brand "Aussie" auto locker's? I seen some for 175$ new in the box. I really dont want to re-gear my Dana 35 rear end, and I've had no issues with it, so I want to stick to the theroy of " If it aint broke, dont fix it "
