I would say locker but I don't wheel alone, but if you have locker and you're stuck... you're still stuck. If you wheel alone then I'd say winch.

A winch so you don't have to get pulled out by an atv again... lol

You forgot about the price of a good winch bumper if you get a winch.

i built a bumper or the front of my jeep with a 2 inch receiver in it and i bought a tabor 9k from my friend for 250$ (in great condition). i had to outfit the winch with a cradle and fairlead so i have a total of about 450$ into this. i got all the material for basically free. but anyways the winch works amazing, i go everywhere without worrying about getting stuck. i even used it to ull out 5 plow trucks during snow storm nemo haha

If you wheel in a group go with a locker. If you wheel alone and have a winch bumper already go with a winch but you should never wheel alone.

I have a rear locker and winch on my Xj. I use my winch mainly to help others who get high centered or can not get up a trail and slide sideways on off camber spots. I'll winch them in as they drive to keep them from getting into a bad situation

I bought my XJ with a winch and a locker on it. Over the 2 years I've owned it, I have yet to use the winch. Hell, I don't even know if it works lol. I use my locker all the time and love it. Although I also wheel in a group.
