I NEED A LIFT but dont have alot of money lol. So i think im gonna go the budge route. So what do you think of this lift,http://www.rocky-road.com/xjbudget.html (3inch no new shocks) read the article though, from waht i understand its not using an AAL.
this is a jeep with this lift on it, what do you guys think? And please dont give me alot of posts saying i need to just wait and save up the money for a full lift, as i cant really pour that much money into my jeep. ALSO, could you give me like a rating on how hard this would be for me to do myself? like out of ten what number difficulty would it be?

It'll work. Rocky Road is a reputable company. If you want to settle for running 31" tires, 3" is a good lift. You probably will have some driveline vibration problems since you are using an extended shackle in the rear which will change your pinion angle by about 2 degrees. There are people o here though who will object to any type of rear spacer block, so be prepared for that.

blocks = axle wrap. axle wrap = broken. broken = more $$ to spend more money to spend = no new stuff. do your jeep justice and get an AAL.

A 3" coil spring spacer and a 1.5" block and Shackle. Don't do it. That kit is garbage.
Here is a DIY soloution that you can do for 2-3" of lift for less that the Rocky Road ***** lift.

only problem is i have heard lots of people say never go the AAL road, it just sags back down. And im not too knowledgeable in this kind of stuff...err well not at all when it comes to this stuff. My abilitys are limited to bolt on and mostly simple bolt on stuff, i cant fab or weld something cause i dont have the skill to do so. SO if the rockyroad is a bad idea, what is a good lift for cheap that WONT sag back down? I mean if im gonna get a full lift im goin Rough Country so dont suggest anthing if its over $600 cause thats what i can get a full kit from RC from

tell us what you want this lift for! looks? off road use?
i think you'll be fine with that type of lift kit if you dont want to do alot of hard core rock crawling and **** in it. axle wrap and breaking axles willl only happen if your running 12000 rpms on a boulder all day or trying to burn down your tires at a drag track!

Ringgold offroad is a pretty good local company but their website doesnt work right so you'd have to call them or find them on southeastoffroad.com

sorry i did forget to tell what i was gonna lift for LOL, around here we only really have mud, so no rock crawling for me, and im not really gonna play alot in the mud cause this is my DD and i drive it every day, so i really cant afford for it to break down on me cause its my only ride and im on a fixed budget. If rocky road is not a good option what is? i plan on doing the lift myself to save some $$$ but ill check out the ringold place taythegibs

AAL's arent that bad, only really poorly made ones or ones that try and lift your Jeep more than just a couple inches. AAL Sag isnt a big factor on a 2 inch lift they are perfectly fine for what you want. I'd go with the ZJ V8 coils and order an AAL online or go to a local spring shop and they can maybe make you one for around 100 bucks, or take one from a different kind of leaf pack
