I think with 2" and a bit of trim and with 3" no problems at all

I think The wheel Wells on the 97+ are actually smaller then those 84-96. If your gonna be running 31s. A 3" may be better for you. It would require less trimming

Rustys 2 inch budget boost is supposed to be good for 30s so 31s on 3 should work.

I am running a RE Super Flex 3.5" They say that it is good for 32's but 31's fit nice and allow a good amount of flex.

I have a 3.5" lift anf tried to put 32s on it and discount said that when they put the 32s on it hit the frame and wouldn't allow for the vehicle to turn at all.

Could be the backspacing on your wheels.

I probably will end up doing a 2" with trimming and 31's just because I have most of the parts laying around the garage already.

Would a backspacing mess up the wheel bearings?

Too much of it may impact steering and such components, but no.

Backspacing is the measurement from the back of your rim to the actual bolt face on the inside. Stock usually doesn't have enough when going past a 10.5" wide tire.

Backspacing is a measurement on all wheels regardless.

Sorry I've never done it. Since spacers are made out of aluminum how do they do offroad?

I've heard good and bad story's about running spacers., I've never used them so I'm not going to say anything against them but for what your gonna pay for a decent set of spacers. You could just as easily buy a set of rims with the proper backspacing
