Default Lift questions

Hi everyone I'm new to the jeep world and I want to lift my xj 3.5-4in I plan on running a 31-10.5 tire and I have a 45 mile commute to and from work so it will see a lot of pavement.

So what is a good affordable lift and still good for weekend wheeling

90 miles round trip? You'll be looking at a tank of gas roughly every 2 days.

But...what's your budget?

Don't want to spend over $450 on main lift parts I understand break lines and all the other stuff needs extended that's out of picture because its coming no matter what

Well 450 doesn't leave you much.

About all 450 will get in a "kit" is a 3 inch rough country..and I don't think that will even get you full leaf packs.

For that price you're not going to get much. You might end up needing an sye too so factor that in to your price (hnt sye is cheapest route for that)

http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-li...e-xj/index.htm

Find one in your price range and go for it.

Personally I'd save up more and go for a better lift than waste money on a cheap one that might ride like crap. But that's just me.

Trim the fenders on that thing.
Or get a budget boost.

Sure..s10 bastard pack..
I just tend to avoid stuff that may take forever to trac down.
How shot are your current leafs?
If they are mint an add a leaf may do you justice for a bit.

Bastard pack will probably be your best bet.

Unless you can bump up to 600

Then you could get some RE 3.5 leafs: 220
3.5 RE coils: 115
Shocks: 150 (white bodies)
Either re drill your trac bar and save $ or spend 130 on an adj one...
If you can get by with redrilling you could invest in some better lower arms..

I would save up more money so you have a better lift. When you cut corners on a lift it will come back to bite you.
