You always need to align it after a lift.

[QUOTE=holycaveman;2661851]3" blocks are fine just make sure the u bolts are not cheap ones and crank them tight.
Lot of paranoia on the net about them but no real experience. /QUOTE]

The u-bolts should be tightened to specification.
The issue with blocks has to do with physics and safety, not paranoia.

Closest shackles to 3" will be Clayton 3 way adjustable. Up to 2.5"
The also have a bend to help the angle. And have an oversize bushing.

Same goes for full leaf packs. Install them wrong and you will have problems.

"Physics" the term, is used mainly used by people who don't wholly understand the application.
"Safety". Usually is made or broken by the installer and/or failure to maintain inspection .
Specifications are around for people like yourself. And its a good thing. Seriously.

This is why after every lift kit installation we tell the customer to check all nuts and bolts after 500 miles and periodically after that.

For my own jeep its up on my rack constantly getting inspected for potential problems. I off road a lot.

You will find that most failures come from loose hardware. More important than a torque specification is maintenance.
