Lesson learned, thankfully not the hard way.
Okay, so ever since I've had my XJ, reverse has been a little lazy, and drive likes to stall till 2k from a dead stop then dump into drive.
So today, I was bored, and decided to go out and check everything and give the engine a once over. Checked my oil, belts, and, "Hey", I thought, "I'll check the tranny fluid!"
Pulled out my dipstick, and what was on it?
Nothing.
My tranny dipstick was D...R...Y. Called my dad cause I couldn't believe it. I'd never checked it and I bought it last November of 2009! He said to me that it's just sitting under the dipstick. I said BS, took it on a drive and got it to normal operatin temp, and checked it while it was running in park, like the manual says to.
Still nothin!!
So I go and get 4 quarts of Dexron III, and it DRANK all of them. D...R...A...N...K!
No more lazy reverse, and no more dump in drive! God these motors/trannys are God sent.
