Lesson learned...
Man up, stick a paper towel and some electrical tape on it and move on. I don't think I've ever wrenched on anything without cutting my knuckles or hands open. Hell I burned myself twice yesterday welding and tagged the side of my hand with a grinder, just glad I had a sanding disk on there instead of a cutting one.
That's one thing I won't screw around with anymore. Seen too many guys get pieces of metal in their eyes and I don't want any part of that. If I'm cutting or grinding anything anymore I've got safety glasses on, and more often than not my welding helmet as well.

I had glasses on, now I wear a full.face shield also . I never want to re-live that
Try having a spinning cut off wheel in your hand get stuck and when you free it, it spins across your palm. Cut and cauterized in one pass. Getting cut like that is a rite of passage. Been cut like that or worse, almost losing fingers from being smashed, etc.
